Comedienne and actress, Helen Paul, is back on set after taking time
out to have another baby late last year. The rib cracker is
currently
filming on the set of Jacob’s Mansion, a new movie being produced by Chichi Nworah and directed by Chris Eneaji.
In a telephone chat with Entertainer, Helen opened up on the
project which she described as being very close to her heart: “This
movie is very close to my heart. I play the role of Becky which is the
lead role. It’s a good script because it exposes how society places
pressure on young people, especially women by placing unnecessary high
expectations on them. And sometimes these young people are driven to do
extreme things.”
Jacob’s Mansion is woven around Becky, a young lady of
Urhobo extraction who travels to the UK in search of greener pastures
but ended up being deported shortly after arrival. In a bid to frustrate
her parents who constantly disturb her about marriage and their
upkeep, she secures the job of a housemaid and sends them money
regularly but refuses to return back to her roots in Delta State.
However, her childhood friend runs into her and informs her parents of
their daughter’s whereabouts.
Becky is alarmed as her parents pay her a surprise visit! She begs
her boss, Mr. Jacob, to please play along with her while they are around
because she lied to them that she was staying with her fiancée and
then the drama begins to unfold.
